Specialized Discourse into Practice

The present book is an outcome of this unprecedented opportunity which forced me to leave my professional routine and plunge deeply into the lives of the digital natives we call our students. It is a collection of studies, practices, materials and approaches to a domain which constitutes a significant part of my professional profile, namely specialized English discourses. Teaching English for Specific Purposes (ESP) at the Faculty of Engineering, I had to adapt to the new conditions: the old, traditional, on-site procedures did not work anymore. The content of the book is undoubtedly based on theoretical studies regarding applied linguistics, features of specialized discourses and the methodology of teaching (ESP).
